A Message from the Superintendent

“Every Student, Every Day, Every Classroom”

May 9, 2018

Dear School and Community Friends,

It’s hard to believe that we only have 27 days of school left this year!  I am very thankful for your partnership and involvement in your child’s education throughout the 2017-2018 school year.

Our students have grown tremendously since the beginning of the year.  During visits to the schools and classrooms throughout the year, I am pleased with the progress observed in every student, every day, every classroom.  I continue to be amazed by our students, and the mature qualities that continue to develop such as courteousness, respectfulness, responsibility, perseverance, and honesty.  I am so thankful to be a part of such a wonderful community of students, parents and friends.

Our teaching staff is truly amazing.  Teacher Appreciation Week is May 7-11, 2018.   We have a remarkable team of teachers within the Granite Falls School District working hard every day to guide, nurture, and strengthen our students. Please take a moment during this week to send a quick email or card to a teacher that you know and thank them for the positive impact they have on our students, schools, community, and the future!

The bond projects are underway. Security upgrades are on schedule with many new door access controls, video cameras, monitors, and visual notifications. The projects include cameras outside the front access points with a door lock control function located at each school’s front desk. This will allow the schools to visually see and unlock the front door as needed and keep it locked during scheduled times. The STEAM building is completely gutted and currently having support beams put up throughout. The grandstand project has been digging and forming the footings, as well as putting in tie rebar and setting anchor bolts. Updates are being posted continuously on the district website at: http://www.gfalls.wednet.edu/?page_id=13094.

Spring is here and summer is just around the corner! Now is an excellent time to talk with your children about the importance of finishing the year strong during these last weeks of school.  May and June will be filled with end-of-the-year activities including art shows, awards ceremonies, concerts, and graduations!  I’ll see you soon at one of our many school events!

Sincerely,

Linda R. Hall
Superintendent
